Final Four of Dumb Luck

final-four-dumb-luck

I bet after VCU upset Kansas you said to yourself:  “Nobody would’ve predicted this Final Four.”

And, well, according to ESPN, you’re wrong.  Two people.  Yes, only two, out of 5.9 Million entries predicted this Final Four exactly. The gentleman currently residing in first place has an unreal bracket.

Check it out: (Pearlman’s bracket)

full-bracket

Only 11 total games were selected wrong.  That’s it. If you remember my bracket, I was done before the second weekend of the tournament.  This kid is amazing.  While I don’t think he’s going to win it all because he has VCU winning the national championship, the second place guy, has Kentucky and 3rd has UConn, you’ve got to believe this is a magical run for both him and VCU.

My absolute favorite part of his bracket was the comments posted by fellow ESPN readers.  There were many asking for this weeks lottery numbers like he’s the next Nostradamus. Here are a few of my favorites:

So, ask your self, is it just dumb luck or does this kid know what he’s doing?  Even if he created 50 brackets, to put VCU in the Final Four seems a bit outlandish.  I think it’s amazing and I hope he enjoys his 15 minutes of fame. For that you’re our man-crush of the week and this beer is for your Mr. Pearlman.

Side Note:

To everyone saying that VCU has proven Jay Bilas wrong, understand that they didn’t even think they were getting in.  This team got hot and played with a chip on their shoulder, great runs happen. Remember George Mason? VCU has shown some fancy dance moves, but now its time to seal the deal and take her home.  I just don’t think VCU has it in them.  The only problem is Jay Bilas is going on every media outlet possible and trying to explain his self. If he would’ve just laughed it off and congratulated VCU, it wouldn’t be brought up over and over.

If you’re asking me my picks: Butler over UConn under 135 total points scored.
