NBA Players Help Japan – Follow Up

Derrick-Rose-Helps-Japan-2

Yesterday, Sports Collision reported about an event taking place this past weekend in the NBA in which certain players would be donating $1,000 for every point they scored in specific games to Japan via Direct Relief International.  Well the games have been played and the final tallies are in.  Take a look:

Friday March 25th:

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Chicago Bulls

  • Derrick Rose – 24 points = $24,000
  • Marc Gasol – 14 points = $14,000

Washington Wizards vs. Denver Nuggets

  • JaVale McGee – 13 points = $13,000

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Los Angeles Lakers

  • Pau Gasol – 26 points = $26,000

Saturday March 26th:

New Jersey Nets vs. Atlanta Hawks

  • Al Horford – 23 points = $23,000

Sunday March 27th:

Portland Trailblazers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

  • LaMarcus Aldridge – 20 points = $20,000
  • Russell Westbrook – 28 points = $28,000

Thanks to the great games had by many of these players, they will be giving a massive total of $148,000.  That is a huge sum of money for a great cause.  This does not even include the other players participating in the event.  However, no exact number can be given for the contribution of the other stars as only the above mentioned players pledged to give $1,000 for every point scored.  Be sure to checkout yesterday’s article for Sports Collision’s thoughts on the event and a link to all of the players that participated.  Again, Sports Collision greatly applauds the efforts of these players.

If you’d like to donate to the Japan relief efforts, just text “REDCROSS” to 90999 to donate $10.
