(Provo)cative Cougar!!!!
NCAA Basketball has reached March and we all know what that means…..and YES, the Madness is about to ensue. Well evidently it has already taken place in Provo, Utah. BYU, the number 3 team in the country (for right now, since they are getting BEATDOWN by New Mexico at the moment), has made national headlines by suspending one of their best players for the season. He violated the schools honor code. So that means he must have done some sort of criminal act right? Um…yeah…..all he is guilty of is getting down with his girlfriend. Brandon Davies has officially been suspended for having sexual relations with his girlfriend. ARE YOU KIDDING? First of all, let me say that I am sure Brandon knew this part of the honor code before he did the deed, but come on. That is about the most absurd thing I have EVER heard of. He is kicked off the team because he had sex with his girlfriend.
Now I understand that BYU is a time honored university and they have this so called Honor Code. The honor code says students MUST live a chaste and virtuous life, abstain from alcoholic beverages, tobacco, tea, coffee and substance abuse, and attend church regularly. So let me get this straight….if hero Jimmer Fredette decides to hit up Starbucks on an off day while his team in the Final Four, BYU will send him home? Like I said before, the players and students know these rules beforehand, but wow.
There is still one part of this story that bothers me though. How in the HELL did the team find out about Davies’ naked shenanigans? Did someone overhear them and rat them out? Did Davies’ girlfriend tell someone, who then ratted them out? Either way, I find it HARD (haha) to believe that he is the only person gettin some on that team. That being said….Brandon Davies, you played yourself, but I bet you had a DAMN good time doin it playa.
