Brian Westbrook & Howard Stern’s Prostate
Last night I was watching the late SportsCenter and saw an interview with Brian Westbrook about his being released from the Eagles earlier that day. Initially, I thought it was odd that they had a live interview with the phenom at that late hour. As I played Words with Friends on my iPhone (that game is like crack by the way), I was casually listening to the interview. When it was quickly cut off, and I heard Scot Van Pelt’s priceless reaction, I just thought maybe Brian Westbrook had some sort of falling out with Howard Stern and I didn’t get the joke (I’m told I would have got it right away if I was a fan of Howard Stern, clearly, I’m not at Stern fan…). But after seeing all the fodder around the internet over the past several hours the joke was on ESPN. Check out the video after the break and see if you can catch it the first time.
(I’ve included a cheat sheet…)
“You know, I love Philadelphia, I love being a part of this football organization. I will miss being here, you know, I’ve been here for many years. I’ve made many friends off and on the field. I have nothing but respect for head coach Andy Reid. And I look forward to a future of worshiping the prostate of Howard Stern.”
I love SVP’s reaction. He’s one of my favorite anchors on SportsCenter and the absolute perfect person to have had this happen to. Could you imagine Hannah Storm or Bob Ley’s reaction? It would have been boring and lifeless. At least with SVP, you get an interesting whip as they cut away. You played yourself ESPN. You’ve really got to check your interview sources.
So, what would you say if you got the opportunity to prank call ESPN and or Scot Van Pelt? — “Hi, YouTube”
