New Nike Pro-Combat Uniforms
You may have noticed some new uniforms in TCU’s big victory over the Utah Utes this past Saturday. Well Nike has released 3 new uniforms for selected schools, 2 of which were on display this past weekend. Virginia Tech, TCU and Florida State are the 3 teams that have been released. My personal favorite (so far) is the Florida State uniforms. Using a brighter deeper red and the all black helmet makes these uni’s look tougher than steel. (My least favorite was the Virginia Tech… just seemed a little plain.)
The surprising part to me is the teams slated to get new uniforms in the future. There are some teams who’ve shunned the Oregon Ducks (Check out the latest Ducks unis, All black, with Flat Black helmet and blazing yellow “O” – Awseome. I’m a fan of most of their uniforms and especially their willingness to change them.) philosophy and stuck with “Tried and True” methods. Teams like Oklahoma and Texas were even mentioned in an article on Fox Sports how they have some of the best uniforms and will never trade them in ala Oregon or Miami. Well.. turns out they will. Teams slated to get new uniforms will include:
- Miami
- Oklahoma
- Florida
- Texas
- LSU
- Ohio St
- Missouri

I’ve got to admit, if that if these uniforms follow the TCU or FSU styles.. they’ll be pretty nice. To go along with this new style Nike has created some pretty cool videos to go explain the reasoning behind their choices.
This isnt the first time Nike has released a new System of Dress. For the 2007 NCAA Basketball championship tournament Nike released System of Dress debuting the latest style for college basketball. Visit System of Dress site.

I think nike is revolutionizing the sprts world. Not just football but other sports. With the new apparell and I as an athlete myself. Think every team needs these new uniforms to maximize their players abilities.
