Greatest Coaching Rants! Who’s Next?

Dennis Green - They are who we thought they were.

Football season is almost here and the writers of the Sports Collision have already put their picks in.  In case you missed it, you can review it here.  The other day, my father said something in a heated political debate that got me to thinking about a certain coach’s outburst in front of the media.  My old man said and I quote, “Where are we at in society?” and “Makes me want to puke.”  Now, some of you who follow college football should get it, but in case you have forgotten, you can watch it below:

2010 NCAA Football – Collision Caucus

NCAA-COLLISION-CAUCUS

With the 2010 College Football season getting ready to kick off in less than a month, there are a lot of questions to be answered. The most talked about quarterback class since 1983 draft with Dan Marino, Jim Kelly and John Elway won’t be taking snaps for the first time in 4 years. And it seems as perennial powerhouses like Florida, USC and Texas have question marks surrounding their seasons. This will certainly be an interesting season. The Sports Collision writers got together and broke down every automatic BCS qualifying conference to determine conference champions, Heisman candidates and of course the BCS National Champion.

MLB needs Mark Cuban to own the Texas Rangers.

400px-Mark_CubanWith the Texas Rangers firmly in bankruptcy proceedings and ESPN reporting that a bankruptcy judge has ruled that the Aug. 4 auction won’t be delayed, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban may be among the bidders. I think this is a good move for the MLB.

Mark Cuban can sure stir up the pot.  In the basketball arena his type of attitude and affection for the game is more acceptable, despite what David Stern would have you to believe.  Mark Cuban took a floundering franchise in the Dallas Mavericks (Once, the Clippers of the South) and made them into a perennial top tier team.  He hasn’t been able to complete his title chase, but he’s come close.

Space Travel with Lamar Odom

Lamar Odom Space Travel
Ahh… the power of advertising.

I saw this video and loved it so much that I had to order my sample of the new PowerBar Energy Blasts right away. This commercial is great. The Energy Blasts? Not so much. Lamar Odom, the self-proclaimed candy junkie, probably likes them because they taste like Gummy Bears.

Check the vid after the break.

Under Armour Goes Green.

Under Armour Goes Green

Under Armour is sure giving Nike a run for their money.  Under Armour created a product so perfect and so needed that it has achieved the ultimate status of any product.  Just as we ask for a “Kleenex” when we want facial tissue, we ask for Under Armour when we refer to tight stretchy athletic material.

Now, UA is jumping on the latest “green” trend with their New Prototype.  UA Green.  Check the video and more information after the break.
